Blinn College-Brenham hosting performance by acclaimed tenor Christopher Pfund

Acclaimed tenor Dr. Christopher Pfund will perform Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Blinn College-Brenham Campus.
Pfund’s recital will be held at 7 p.m. at Finke Recital Hall in the C.F. Schmidt Building at 800 College Avenue (map). Tickets are free and available at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice .
Pfund’s performance also will be streamed live on the Blinn College Music Department YouTube Channel .
Pfund is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Florida, serving as voice area coordinator. He earned degrees from the University of Northern Colorado, Manhattan School of Music, and the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Pfund has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, New York Oratorio Society, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Pfund also has performed in the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil.
“We’re very excited to host Dr. Pfund,” said Todd Quinlan, Performing Arts Department Head. “His artistic resume includes performing with major orchestras and at festivals throughout North America and internationally.”
Blinn’s Music Department offers small classes, one-on-one attention, practical learning, and accessible faculty so that students are actively engaged in a superior learning environment. Students can pursue an Associate of Arts Degree in Music that provides a solid foundation in the creative and technical aspects of music, including music theory, history, composition, and performance.
