Blinn College District Music Department to hold free May concerts

Woodwind, jazz, brass chamber, and percussion ensembles; concert and chamber choirs, symphonic band, and wind symphony to perform

The Blinn College District Music Department will hold a series of free end-of-semester concerts on the Brenham Campus in May.

“These concerts allow us to share our amazing students with the public and showcase all that we have learned this semester,” said Dr. Sarah Burke, Director of Bands. “We all love the supportive audiences here in Brenham and want to make sure that everyone marks their calendars because you don’t want to miss these events. There’s something for everyone.”

The concerts will be held in Finke Recital Hall in the Schmidt Building (800 College Ave.) and the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center (600 Blinn Blvd.). All are free and open to the public, with complimentary tickets available at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice. The concerts also will be streamed live on the Blinn College Music YouTube Channel.

Performances are:

• Woodwind Ensemble, Monday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in Finke Recital Hall;
• Jazz Ensemble, Tuesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in the O’Donnell Center;
• Brass Chamber Ensembles, Wednesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the O’Donnell Center;
• Concert and Chamber Choirs, Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. in Finke Recital Hall;
• Symphonic Band, Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in the O’Donnell Center;
• Percussion Ensemble, Saturday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the O’Donnell Center;
• and Wind Symphony, Sunday, May 7, at 5 p.m. in the O’Donnell Center.
