Blinn College voice students to present tribute to Halloween
Recital will be staged Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Finke Hall on Brenham Campus

Blinn College District Music Department voice students will present a spooky tribute to Halloween at a recital Tuesday, Oct. 31.
“This is Hallowe’en” will be presented at 7 p.m. in the C.F. Schmidt Building’s Finke Recital Hall at 800 College Avenue (map) on the Brenham Campus. Tickets are free and may be reserved at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice. The recital also will be streamed on the Music Department YouTube Channel.
Voice students of Dr. Daniel Johnson, Blinn Voice and Choir Professor and lyric baritone, will perform, including Troyshell Green (mezzo-soprano), Asia Heslip (soprano), Kishjon Rogers (baritone), Remzi Konar (baritone), Desh Cunningham (tenor), A’anyiah Toliver (mezzo-soprano), R.J. Badillo (tenor), Abigail Zissa (soprano), Sarai Mendoza (soprano), Daniel Maus (baritone), Xay Stackhouse (bass), Breanna Chavis (soprano), Elizabeth Cates (soprano), Samantha Dilley (soprano), Corey Kingman (baritone), Daevon Brown (baritone), and Callie Rhodes (contralto). Pianists will be Pamela Connolly and Joshua Destoville.
“We invite the public to come catch an internationally spooky flavor in this recital,” Johnson said. “It includes selections from the classical and contemporary repertory in all four of the standard art languages – French, Italian, German, and English.”
Blinn’s Music Department offers small classes, one-on-one attention, practical learning, and accessible faculty so that students are actively engaged in a superior learning environment. Students can pursue an Associate of Arts Degree in Music that provides a solid foundation in the creative and technical aspects of music, including music theory, history, composition, and performance.
