Beta Alpha Chapter welcomes new members at ceremony on Brenham Campus

Sixteen Blinn College students recently were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society for students on the Brenham, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses.

Inductees were Luke Anders, Sealy; Tae’lor Anderson, Houston; Nicholas Anguiano, Houston; Caden Cawvey, Burleson; Emma Chamberlain, Fulshear; Emmalie Cleverly, Kingwood; Nicolas Ford, Ellinger; Craig Frye, Burleson; Autumn Kelley, Washington, Texas; Alyssa Malone, Bryan; Jaylon McClain, Huntsville; Emma Neal, Katy; Dakoda Pearson, Whitewright; Carson Peschel, Bellville; Keisha Richards, Carrollton; and Dawson Rudloff, Burton.

The guest speaker was Colbey Thornton, chapter president. Thornton is also the 2023-24 PTK Texas Region District Five vice president.

PTK is recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor society for two-year colleges. To be inducted, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average with a minimum of 12 transferrable hours. Membership is by invitation only.

The Beta Alpha Chapter sponsors various activities, including blood drives, field trips, and guest speakers on campus. Club members from Beta Alpha attend regional and international conferences and have won numerous awards.
