The Blinn College District celebrated the grand opening of its new Bryan Campus Administration Building on Friday.
Approximately 300 Blinn employees, students, community leaders, and special guests celebrated the milestone opening in the building’s second-floor banquet room. In addition to welcoming remarks from Chancellor Mary Hensley and Blinn College District Board of Trustees Chair Jim Kolkhorst, the audience heard from State Rep. Paul Dyson, State Rep. Trey Wharton, City of Bryan mayor Bobby Gutierrez, City of College Station Mayor John Nichols, and Blinn College-Bryan Campus Advisory Committee Chair Kenny Lawson.
“Today, we celebrate a milestone that symbolizes Blinn’s commitment to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for all who visit our campus,” Hensley said. “This 46,000-square-foot building is a modern facility designed to serve as a gateway to higher education and student success.”
In addition to a new campus entrance at Nash Street and Villa Maria Road, a welcoming monument sign, and an intramural field, the new building houses campus administration, human resources, and student services such as academic advising, dual credit, enrollment services, financial aid, prospective student relations, and veterans’ services. With the opening of the new building, all the student services previously located at the Tejas Center will be located on the Bryan Campus.
In addition to the student services offered on the first floor, the second-floor banquet room accommodates up to 300 guests and can be divided into two smaller spaces, offering flexibility for events of all sizes. The space is available to the public and can be reserved on the Blinn College website.
“This new facility demonstrates Blinn’s dedication to providing a world-class education in a setting that fosters student success, innovation, and collaboration,” Kolkhorst said.
