Mental Health Counseling Services
Eligibility
Students currently enrolled at Blinn are eligible for an initial intake appointment. The frequency of sessions, an approximate number of sessions, or additional services will be made at that time based on the student’s concern and the available resources of Blinn Counseling Services.
Individual Counseling
Students meet individually with a counselor for approximately 45 minutes. All individual appointments fall within the normal Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., business hours. Academic, self-awareness, coping with stress, career, and other personal concerns can all be discussed during an individual session.
Individual Counseling is short-term in nature, in a limited number of sessions. The primary goal is to help facilitate student success and focus on short-term objectives. If long-term counseling is needed or is beyond the scope of practice for our Counseling Services, the counselor will provide a referral list for appropriate professional or agencies in the area.
