Blinn's Associate of Science Degree in Geology is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in the field of geology. In this program, you take courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics common to most geology-related disciplines and continue your studies in specialized areas after transferring to a university program.

The Associate of Science degree in Geology is intended to match, within the constraints of the Core Curriculum, the course of study for the first two years of a typical science program at a four-year college or university. This degree can be completed on the Brenham and Bryan campuses.

Blinn courses are highly transferrable, and recent geology graduates have transferred to Texas A&M, the University of Texas Arlington, the University of Houston, Sam Houston State, and more.

A degree in geology or earth science can prepare students to work in a variety of positions, including natural sciences managers, geoscientists, science teachers, and more, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, geoscientists earned a median salary of $83,680 in 2021.
