Katy Adams, MDA RD CSG LD
Katy is a Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition, has a BBA in Management from Baylor University, and a Master in Dietetic Administration through Utah State University with an emphasis in person-centered care.
Katy has been a consulting dietitian for over eighteen years. She has been the instructor for the Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professional's approved dietary manager’s class through Blinn College since 2008.
Katy has multiple publications: Author of Defining Skilled Nursing Facility Residents’ Dining Style Preferences in the Journal of Nutrition in Gerontology and Geriatrics, 32:1–20, 2013; Contributor for Nutrition Care for the Older Adult published through the Academy; Reviewer for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Nutrition Care Manual, long term care section; Editor for The Pocket Resource for Nutrition Assessment and the Pocket Resource for Management through DHCC and the Academy.
Katy has served on the CSG cut score committee; the Sponsorship Coordinator, the Sales and Marketing Coordinator, and on the website development committee for Dietetics in Healthcare Communities (a practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics). Katy is also active in her local community: volunteering at the animal shelter, fostering cats and kittens, serving on church council, and as a little league softball coach.
